In this blog, I would like to explain the method of resolving the issue of a missing detoured.dll file. In my computer this file was missing. A popup containing an error message was being displayed, every time I was trying to open either a Notepad, MSPaint, Visual Studio or the SQL Server.
I got this file, and pasted it into C:\Windows\System32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory because the system has Windows 7 Operating System, but, otherwise you can paste it into C:\Windows\System32 directory.
Now, restart the system and the issue is resolved.
