Sorry to disappoint guys but I'm afraid I can't come for family reasons.

I do not like competition, because it can easily interfere with the help that members receive.

I know that sounds like I am a "sore loser" but I have thought about this much and I think I have valid concerns. I apologize for expressing my concerns improperly but I am not sure what to do. I do have concerns that I consider to be extremely relevant.

Yes, I have been posting less lately; I have been busy. I have also given up trying to help in many cases since for one thing, everyone is such a fan of Vulpes that I cannot help even when I try. And when Vulpes and another member get into a long discussion, it would take too much time for me to get involved and when I try, I get no cooperation. I truly think I can help but I am unable to.

So I prefer to avoid thinking of this as a competition. I do want to do the best we can to provide the best help possible.

I totally understand Sam. However, you are helping a lot already on the back end by doing lot of editorial work. Every day we have more and more articles coming.

 Ever wonder why Sam not getting any good responses or any Accepted Answers like Vulpes and me ... Because Sam approach is different and he tries to help the member's to solve their queries by themselves. But our members needed immediate answers only. Vulpes is more informative and provide correct answers, and I just reply the thread and will not revisit it again ...

 Mindcracker needs more people Sam, Vulpes, Destin, Dhananjay,Mamta etc.... for our brighter future ...

 So just enjoy your time, as Sam said no competition here ...

However, like Sam, I have no great interest in competition - it's not why I post.

So, Mahesh & Dinesh, I suggest you remove our names from the Top Contributors list either now or when the new site is rolled out.

We can then get on with answering questions in our own particular way without worrying about who's top.

In fact, it might be a good idea if contributors are automatically removed from the list when they reach a certain number of points. I would have said 5000 but perhaps we should make it 6000 so Suthish can enjoy a well deserved 'day in the sun' :)

Agree with @Vulpes, top contributors (who reaches at the certain points), display it like 'All Star', no need to race with points when you are 'All Star'. From my point of view Vulpes, Sam, Sutish, Dhananjay are 'All Star' deserving icons here.

Create a page and call it something like "Hall Of Fame" and list these guys there:)

This is a good discussion guys. I like @Vulpes's suggestion about inducting some of the members into a "Hall of Fame" or "Legend" wall. Some of us really don't contribute here to earn points or gain recogniton and by having a inducton as Hall of Famer, it will give a chance to the new comers.

Also, guys .. I see most of us who are active, helping in different ways are the "pillars".

"I have a dream in that education is available to all at no cost".

The 'Hall of Fame' was actually Abhimanyu's idea but I agree it's a good one as there'd need to be somewhere to go when you reached the points limit :)

It would also give the more community-minded newcomers something to aim for.
