what is the Purpose of WCF

Question

Hi all,

 

 

I have been working as a  web application developer using dotnet for past 2.5 Years.I am new to WCF Services.My question is what are the possible scenarios to use WCF service in my web applications. My understanding is   Normally we write methods in c#, so instead of writing method in c#, we need to write as a services which can be accessed by any language.In our c# methods we write our application logics like sending mails,User rights, etc..

I went through the internet  about wcf But i am not satisfied with this,So can any one tell me what would be the possible way i can implement the WCF in my application.
