Switch Career from Support engineer to .Net Developer

Question

I got a chance to work in MNC Where by the time i join here as a Support Engineer,my  work is going on in linux and sql support  though it does not include much of coding  also salary hike is not much better than a developer after some year of experience so i want to switch my Career to .Net Developer after 2 year, so is it possible to switch ? if yes then how? i need help of a expert and please suggest me some of the best way.
