Our client is looking for a strong backend engineer to join their ad serving team, building the best advertising platform for mobile developers. Their ad server processes tens of thousands of requests per second with extremely low latency and they are building systems and components to help them scale 10x. You will own designing, developing, testing and shipping several critical systems in the ad server with high quality.

 

Their technology stack includes Scala, Finagle, Python, AWS, Github, Kafka, multiple No SQL storage solutions, Github, Jenkins and Puppet. Their developers own writing both unit and integration tests to ensure high quality of our products. You have the opportunity to evaluate new technologies and use them to design better and reliable systems. Experience with our stack is a bonus, but not required.

 

• Maintaining and extending a suite of services including a Scala + Kafka service that manages campaign pacing, a PHP HTTP conversion API, and a Python service that handles monetary transactions.
• Participate in a longer term effort to consolidate services to Scala using the Finagle framework.

• 4+ years programming experience with Java, Scala or Python
• 2+ years of experience building Ad Servers, RTB or other advertising products
• Experience in designing and developing large-scale distributed systems with tens of thousands of requests per second at low latency
• Ability to learn new technologies and evaluate multiple technologies to solve a problem
• Experience in writing automated tests and shipping high quality systems.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills
• BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience
