The consultant is expected to primarily responsible for performs product design tasks of a very high complexity which may require extensive research and analysis and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Expert knowledge of one or more programming languages including Java, program design and specification development, program logic and flow-charting, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Works independently on very highly complex programming tasks. Provides analysis of problems, recommends, and implements solutions. Prepares program specifications and develops coding logic flowcharts.
- Participates in client interactions and business partner discussions, independently, to develop system solutions to business problems.
- Works within established procedures to develop, test, implement, and maintain application software. Recommends improvements to established processes, develops implementation plans, and assists in rollout.
- Initiates and leads improvements to established team processes, design, and coding standards, and influences others to adopt.
- Mentors more junior developers.
- Troubleshooting and problem resolution of critical issues that may involve many systems and platforms, within a complex infrastructure.
- Expect to be working on multiple large projects concurrently.
- Ability to multi-task is critical.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of experience at Sr. Software developer level
- Strong understanding and coding experience in Core-Java with JVM 1.5 or higher
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented principles
- Conceptual and Working knowledge in Web Development space using J2EE (JSP, Servlet, MVC Architecture)
- Experience in any messaging platform.
- Expertise on J2EE platform
- Good understanding of Flex development environment and technologies (BlazeDS, LCDS) AIR etc.
- Experience in UI development using other technologies is desirable Java AWT/Swing, JavaScript etc.
- Good understanding of OS concepts, Networking concepts, data structures and algorithms
- Good understanding of database concepts (SQL, JDBC etc.)
- Good understanding and experience in design and development of JS/HTML5 applications is desirable
Preferred Skills:
- Java frameworks using Struts, Spring etc.
- ORM technologies using Hibernate, Toplink, Ibatis etc.
- Experience TIBCO products (EMS, Business Works, AMX etc.)
- Finance industry experience.
