Create Table Box In QlikView

Introduction

QlikView Table Box is a simple table for showing data or information line-by-line for the selected fields and columns. A Table Box is important for showing data in tabular form. Table Box is divided into rows and columns.

Using Table Box in QlikView application

Use the following procedure to create a sample showing how to use a Table Box in a QlikView application.

Step 1: Open the QlikView application

In the first step you need to open the QlikView application then go to File-> New, then this window will be opened.

Step 2: Open Edit Script

The second step is to open the edit script window from, File-> Edit Script.

  • Then this window will be opened.

Step 3: Click on table files.

In this step we import our Excel file and click on the Open button.

Step 4: File wizard type.

Then this window will be opened. Here you can see your Excel file table and click on the Finish button.

Step 5: Code of edit script.

Now, in the edit script the Excel file is uploaded successfully and reload it.

Step 6: Save file.

The next step is to save our QlikView file.

Step 7: Sheet property window.

The sheet property window will be opened. In this window you add fields that you want to display as a table and click on the OK button.

Main window.

Then you will see this window.

Step 9: Select Table Box.

In the menu bar, there is an option for layout; click on layout and select Table Box.

Step 10: New Table Box.

In this window we select all fields for showing the full row data and click on the OK button.

Then you can see this window, it shows all data of a single row.

Step 11: Set the properties of the Table Box.

Now if you want to set the properties of the Table Box then go to the property of the Table Box.

Then this property window will be opened.

Step 12: Set the order of the Table Box fields by using promote and demote.

Promote:
It increases rank of table field.

Demote:
It is just the opposite of promote. It reduces the rank of the table field.

Now if you want to set the order of the table field to ascending or descending then there is the option for promote and demote in the table properties window. If you want to set the promote option of table field then select any field and click on the Promote button.

Then you will see this window.

Now you will see when you click on the promote button the selected field moves up from the previous field and click on the OK button to see the changed Table Box. Here you can see the table order is changed.

Now following these processes you can also demote the table fields.

Step 13: Set order.

Now if you want to set the order of the table field then again go to the properties of the Table Box.

In the table properties there are the following three option for order.

  • Count order
  • Load order
  • Text order

Count order: Count order sets the order of the table as in the previous.

Load order: Load order sets the order of the table the same as the table as given in the file, like Excel or database and so on.

Text order: Text order sets the order of the table to alphabetical.
 

Now if you click on Count order then you will see this order.

Now if you click on Load order, then then you will see this order.

Now if you click on Text order, then then you will see this order.

Step 14:
Change the label name of the selected table field.

Now if you want to change the label name of the selected field then simply select the field and change the table name and then click on the OK button.

Suppose here in this example I changed the label name of the city then simply select the field and change the label name.

Now you will see this window after changing the label name.
