In simple terms "A list of news items or information that is allowed to be shared across site accessing members".

 

I think we are now good to go and implement this wonderful concept.

 

Step 1: Open any specific SharePoint developed site in SharePoint 2010.

 

 

 

Step 2: Navigate to "Site Actions" -> "More Options...":

 

 

 

Step 3: Select "Announcements" from the listed categories:

 

 

 

Step 4: Give a name for the announcement:

 

 

Step 5: The announcement is now created; the site looks like this:

 

 

 

 

Step 6: Creating a new announcement
