Newsfeed in SharePoint 2013 and Office 365

Here's an article on Newsfeed in SharePoint 2013 and Office 365. An add-on to provide us a platform to use our addiction to socialism.

Newsfeeds are very important in our office work culture too since it helps us to socialize with all our colleagues, share our thoughts, share new technologies and share our knowledge.

Newsfeed is a platform you can use for the company's announcements or other teams such as HR and Marketing can share valuable news and other users can like that news or drop in their comments.

Let's see how you can do it.

When you create a new site using a team site template in SharePoint 2013 and Office 365, you will see the following Newsfeed added by default on the home site of your site.

Even if you have deleted it, it is available as a web part on the site. Let's use it now.

Convers start

The preceding is your default newsfeed that is empty. You can click on Invite and can share the newsfeed with more people as we can see from the screen below.

You can assign them with various permission levels such as an owner can edit and view access to them.

Let's start with Newsfeed.

As a user I wrote Hi.

  • The users with whom this has been shared can see my Hi.
  • Like it.
  • Reply to it.
  • Copy link to conversation.
  • Follow up.
  • Lock Conversation.

It has a similar approach as we use in our social sites, but this will be on your site, among your own team and organization.

Share all your news with your company, employees, colleagues and your team mates.

Isn't it great? Keep Learning.
