Introduction

In this article we are explaining how to re-enable the mouse pointer drop shadow effect in Windows 8. Microsoft has released Windows 8. In previous versions of the Window OS the mouse pointer was enabled by default. But in Windows 8 this feature was disabled by default. In Windows 8, Microsoft changed many display elements such as removing the drop shadow from nearly everything including the mouse pointer. You can re-enable it if you want to. You can follow these steps to re-enable the mouse pointer shadow.

How to Re-Enable the Mouse Pointer Shadow in Windows 8

Step 1

In Desktop Mode, right-click on Computer and select the Properties as shown below:

Step 2

In this step, you will see the System Window and click on "Advanced System Settings" from the left pane of the window.

Step 3

In this step, you will see the System Properties Window and click on the Advanced tab. You click on the Settings Button under Performance.

Step 4

In this step, if you want to re-enable the shadow, just click on the "Show shadow under mouse pointer" check box and then click on "Apply" or "OK" Button.
