How To Enable Network Discovery In Windows 8

Introduction

 

Unlike in Windows XP and earlier versions of the operating system, Windows 7 and Windows 8 are modified with a new feature named as Network Discovery feature. This feature allows the user to see all client systems in the network. When network discovery is ON, the computer can see other network computers and devices and is visible to other network computers. However, by default this feature is enabled but if due to some reason it would restrict access to other clients then how to enable network discovery.

 

So this article is dedicated to the way to enable Network Discovery In Windows 8.

 

Step 1

 

First of all, we have to move to the Start screen window of Windows 8. 

 

 

Step 2

 

Then move the cursor on the bottom-right of the window screen and click the search box which is helpful to search in Windows 8.

Then in the search box type "control panel" and click on Apps from the right sidebar then click Control Panel in the main window.

On performing this task a new window will appear labeled with All Control Panel Items.

Now in the All Control Panel Items window just select the Network and Security Centre option.

Then in the Network and Security Centre window just click on the Change Advanced Sharing Settings option.

Finally in the Advanced Sharing Settings window just check the Turn on network discovery option and restart the system.
