Check the User Permissions in SharePoint 2013 Online

In this article I would like to share the procedure to check the user permissions on a SharePoint site.

What SharePoint permission is

Permissions enable users to access resources that they need.

You can associate permissions with permission levels and also associate permission levels with users and SharePoint groups.

Users and SharePoint groups are associated with securable objects, such as sites, lists, list items, libraries, folders within lists and libraries, and documents.

Procedure to check the user permissions

Use the following procedure to check the user permissions in a SharePoint site.

Step 1: Open your site, then click on the settings and from the drop down choose the site settings as shown below:



Step 2: On your site settings page, click on the “Site Permission” under the Users and Permission as shown below:



Step 3: When you click on the site permissions in the site settings page then you will be navigated to the permissions page as in the following.



Step 4: Then click on the “Check Permissions” option in the "Permissions" tab from the top ribbon bar as shown below.



Step 5: After you click on “Check Permissions” in the Check section from the top ribbon bar, you will get the following pop-up as in the following:



Step 6: In the pop-up, you can provide the user name in the text box as shown below.



Step 7: Click on the “check” button to check the user then enter the user name in the text box as shown below.
