Add Shutdown Shortcut to Start Screen in Windows 8

Introduction 

 
Windows 8 provides an easy way to personalize settings and to customize all the Windows apps on the start screen in the form of tiles. But sometimes you want to create your own shortcuts for easy navigation to the apps that are the most useful. The user can add shortcut icons such as Shutdown or Reboot shortcuts back etc.
In my previous article, we learned how to create your own shortcut in Windows 8. You can also create your own Windows 8 shortcut like Shutdown on the Start Screen.
 
In this article, we are going to learn how to create your own shortcut shutdown icon on the start screen.
 

Steps to be followed

 
Step 1
 
Go to the following path in the system:

Step 2
 
Create your own shortcut of the shutdown. Follow my previous article to create a shortcut.

Step 3
 
You have to enter the location of the shutdown item.
 
Shutdown.exe -s -t 00

Step 4
 
This will create a shortcut link, such as to shutdown.exe.

Step 5
 
Now, go to the Start screen and press s from the keyboard. Enter the name of your shortcut.

Step 6 You will see a shutdown icon on the left side of the screen like this:

Step 7
 
Right-click on the icon to select it. This will show a bar on the bottom of the screen.
  
Step 8  
 
Click on the Pin to Start from the bottom of the bar of the screen.

Now you can see the new shutdown shortcut on the start or main screen.
