Edit Links in SharePoint 2013 Quick Launch

In this article you will see the new look and feel to edit/add/remove links in the SharePoint 2013 quick launch.

Introduction

A new user interface is introduced to add/edit/remove the links in SharePoint 2013 navigation. In this article you will see the following:

  1. Drag and Drop the link
  2. Add a new link
  3. Edit the link
  4. Remove the link
  5. Change the order of the links

Drag and Drop the link

  1. Navigate to the SharePoint site http://c4968397007/.
  2. I have an app named Custom that I wanted to add in the quick launch.
  3. Click on "Site Contents".
  4. Click on "Edit Links" in the quick launch bar.

  5. Drag and drop the Custom app to the quick launch.

  6. A Custom app link will be added to the quick launch bar.
  7. Click on the "Save" button.

  8. When you click on "Custom" in the quick launch it will be redirected to the Custom app page.
  9. Similarly you can drag and drop the documents or list item in the quick launch.

Add a new link

  1. Click on "Edit Links" in the quick launch bar.
  2. Click on "Link".

  3. Enter the display text and URL.

  4. Click on "Ok".
  5. Click on the "Save" button in the quick launch bar.
  6. A new link is added successfully to the quick launch.

Edit the link

  1. Click on "Edit Links" in the quick launch bar.
  2. Click on the item that you want to delete.

  3. Click on the "Edit a link" button.
  4. Edit the link and click on "Ok".
  5. Click on the "Save" button in the quick launch.

Remove the link

  1. Click on Edit Links in the quick launch bar.
  2. Click on cross button for the item that has to be deleted.

  3. Click on the "Save" button in the quick launch.

Change the order of the links

  1. Click on "Edit Links" in the quick launch.
  2. Drag and drop the link to change the order of the links.

  3. Click on the "Save" button.
