Allow Users to Run Only Specified Programs in Windows 8

Introduction 

 
If you have a shared or public computer you might want to allow users to use only specified programs. So, here we will focus on setting Local Group Policy that can easily modify the list any time you want and run only specified programs. There are some steps that allow users to run specified programs only and these steps are.
 
Step 1
 
Click on Start and type gpedit.msc in search box.

Step 2
 
Navigate to User Configuration->Administrative Template->Sysytem.

Then under Setting scroll down and double Click on Run only specified Windows applications.

Step 4
 
Set it to Enabled, then under the Options section click on the Show the button next to List of allowed applications.

Step 5
 
A Show Contents dialog box will appear where you can type in the apps you want to allow users to run.

Step 6
 
When finished with the list, click OK. You have successfully done with the process. Now, if a user wants to launch an application that is restricted or not on a specified list then the user will receive the error message.
