Error occurred in deployment step ‘Activate Features’: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation

When I deploy my visual webpart in sharepoint 2010 environment, VS 2010 throws the error "Error occurred in deployment step ‘Activate Features’: Attempted to perform an unauthorized operation".   Hmm !! Interesting Isn't?

 

The following are the steps to rectify the Error and ensure the smooth deployment into SharePoint Farm solution.

 

1. Open Sharepoint 2010 Central Administration.
2. Navigate to Application Management and choose Change site collection administrations
3. Select the site collection where deployement has to happen
4. Add you windows account as the primary (or) secondary site collection administrator.
