How do I explain a 2 year long Career Gap

I am a .Net developer with 4.3 years of experience. But now I have a career gap of 2 years. I am looking for job in the same field. So How do I explain a 2 year long Career Gap? I have done some freelancing work in the same tecnology during this period. So will it work?
