How to Test asp.net web application using host file

Question

I have a domain name and hosting purchased from a hosting provider company , my crystal reports are not working there so they gave me a space on another server to test the application , but they did not give me the new domain like www.something.com , they said that upload to new server and change the host file from 

C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc

 

and then test i do not know the procedure i have uploaded the project on new server and i also made an entry into my host file like below

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.

# 127.0.0.1 localhost

# ::1 localhost

72.9.155.40 planrbme.com.pk

 

When i browse to http://72.9.155.40 /planrbme.com.pk 

it says

404 - File or directory not found.

The resource you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.

what is the procedure correct me if i am wrong
