offer letter on hold

Dear all,

 

                I got shortlisted in a well reputed MNC. They said me to submit my documents for background verification. I have being following up through phone calls and email for the past one month. the only word they say all the time is my offer is on hold.

 

I am confused whether i will be getting my offer letter or not. kindly suggest me what to do.
