Several useful features missed the cut-off point for Microsoft's release of Windows Phone 8 in October, but the company is reportedly getting ready to release an update for its mobile operating system, called Apollo plus, according to The Verge

According to the report, Apollo Plus is not considered a major upgrade to the platform, but rather a series of fixes and inclusions that should prove useful to early adopters.

Among the new features are VPN support allowing corporate users to connect to work systems, a Wi-Fi fix enabling gapless connection, and a test by Microsoft to see whether it can successfully deliver updates over-the-air, instead of having users plug into PCs as on previous operating systems.

The report states that Microsoft is expected to detail Apollo Plus at Barcelona's Mobile World Congress between February 25-28.
