Adoption of Apple's iOS 6 has increased 29% since Google Apps became available for the operating system last week.
As Apple continues to bring fixes and improvements to iOS 6, yesterday releasing iOS 6.1 beta 4, TechCrunch reports, via Mohub, that the mobile OS received a 29% boost in adoption following the inclusion of Google Maps last week.

Mopub, which monitors more than 1 billion ad impressions across 12,000 apps each day, found a 29% boost in unique iOS 6 users in the five day period following the appearance of Google Maps for iOS 6.

TechCrunch also notes in its report that Apple has replaced the UDID (Unique Device ID) user identification system on iOS 6 with IFA (IdentifierForAdvertising), which allows for a reset to opt out of tracking.

As we noted with the release of Google Maps for iOS 6, which recorded over 10 million installs in 24 hours, Google's victory on maps was also a win for iOS 6. The rapid spike in adoption appears to bear this out, and with a greater number of users now on iOS 6, features of the operating system will likely see speedier improvements.
