Samsung unveiled curved display smartphone Galaxy Round

Samsung officially unveiled Galaxy Round its first smartphone with a curved OLED display.
Samsung has announced the Galaxy Round, a smartphone with a curved display. The device is available in Korea in the Luxury Brown color and more colors options will be introduced soon. The Galaxy Round will go on sale no later than October 10th.

Disappointingly, Samsung has yet to unveil the Galaxy Round’s specifications sheet. Samsung has only disclosed that the smartphone has a 5.7-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED flexible display that's only 7.9mm and weighs 154g including battery.

Samsung did provide some of the display’s main features in its press release:

ROLL EFFECT: Using this feature the user can check information such as date, time, battery life and missed calls easily even if the home screen is off.

GRAVITY EFFECT: Creates visual interaction with the screen when the device is tilted.

BOUNCE UX: With this feature the user can control the music. When the Galaxy Round’s display is off while the music player is running, a short press to the left of the device will play the previous track while a short press to the right will play the next track.

SIDE MIRROR: This feature allows users to gain access to a list of the album's content with a left and right tilt.

Samsung doesn’t disclose the pricing and availability of the Galaxy Round. The Samsung Galaxy Round will be available tomorrow via SK Telecom.
