Microsoft releases new emulators for Windows Phone 8, including 1080p support.
In an official blog post, Microsoft has announced and released two new sets of emulators for the app developers who want to make programs for Windows Phone 8, adding support for 1080p.

The first set of emulator links to the GDR2 update known as “Update 2” only applies on developers that only have Visual Studio 2013 RTM installed. But, if you already have the original Windows Phone 8 Update 2 emulator images installed you don’t need to install these.

The biggest and the most important change is the emulators for Update 3. It adds an 1080p emulator so that the developers can see how their app will perform on an 1080x1920 smartphone display. The recent WVGA, WXGA, and 720p emulators will also be updated to build 8.0.10512.

According to the blog, these new versions require either Visual Studio 2012 Update 3 or Visual Studio 2013 RTM, along with the Windows Phone SDK 8.0. And one can also remove the WP 8 emulator images from the machines at any point of time .
