Adobe releases Photoshop Lightroom 5

Today Adobe announced the availability of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, the company's professional photo management and manipulation software for Mac OS and Windows, reports The Verge.

Adobe highlights new and improved features found in Lightroom 5, as well as a number of other smaller features designed to make the software more powerful and efficient than ever.

Advanced Healing Brush: for removing objects.

Upright tool: automatically corrects perspective for images with skewed elements.

Radial Gradient tool: the ability to create off-center vignettes.

Smart Previews: allows users to edit offline images when away from their primary image storage device by keeping a smaller version of the image locally.

Improved photo book creation: Combine still images, video clips, and music in creative HD videos that can be viewed on almost any computer or device.

Video slideshows:  Create beautiful photo books from your images.

The software is available from Adobe's website for $79 when upgrading from an earlier version, or $149 for new users. Those already subscribed to Adobe's Creative Cloud service will find that the new software is included in their memberships.
