Bing will encrypt all search traffic

Last week, the owner of Wikipedia, Wikimedia announced securing its website contents and today, Microsoft announced that it will encrypt its search engine Bing’s traffic. HTTPS will be applied to www.bing.com website and the default URL will change to https://www.bing.com.

Announced via a blog post by Duane Forrester:

“Bing has already been offering users the option to encrypt search traffic for about a year and a half now. Beginning this summer, we will begin the process of encrypting search traffic by default.”
