Chrome update for iOS with more features

Google announced the release of Chrome 28 for iOS, adding several enhanced features, including data compression designed to speed up page loading, reports The Verge. Chrome for iOS now lets users open links for YouTube, Google Maps, Google+, and Google Drive in those apps, rather than the browser.

The full Chrome 28 for iOS change log is as follows:

  • Better voice search and text-to-speech feature now supports all variations of English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Japanese, and Korean.
  • Fullscreen mode on the iPad.
  • Toolbar controls are now always available when using voice search as well.
  • Access to browser history.
  • Stability/security improvements and bug fixes.
  • Reduce data usage and speed up page load times. View data savings in Bandwidth Management settings. This feature is being rolled out and will be available to all users over time
  • Chrome for iOS now lets users open links for YouTube, Google Maps, Google+, and Google Drive in those apps, rather than the browser
Turn this feature on by going to Settings > Google Apps, then flipping the switches of your preferred apps to On. If you don't have the app installed, you can do so right from Chrome by hitting the Install button.
