Facebook blocks contact-exporting tool

Facebook has blocked the Facebook Friend Exporter, an open-source Chrome Web browser extension that lets people to export their Facebook friend data.

By today July 5, 2011, Facebook remove e-mail addresses of your friends from your profile. It means that now you can’t export your friend’s contact.

The Friend Exporter tool lets people save their contacts' e-mail addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, and other information into a text file or to directly import them into Gmail, which helps in rebuilding the contact network of Google account holders at Google+.

Now Facebook, provides only a tool to let people extract what they themselves have put into the network. Now the friend list shows only a series of names in plain text with no contact information, and not even a link to their Facebook pages.
