Google is dropping China's web registrar

Google is dropping China's biggest web registrar, the China Internet Network Information Center (or CNNIC), from Google products. The modification will soon affect the Google Chrome browser. Google is no longer registering new HTTPS certificates from them. The CNNIC's old certificates will continue to work, this action by Google just prevents the issuance of new certificates. The reason for this is Google is concerned that the CNNIC has been allowing (perhaps unintentional) misuse of the HTTPS certificates.

HTTPS certificates are necessary for secure connections using HTTPS. The CNNIC issues HTTPS certificates for the entire Chinese web.
