Google's AI wins at playing computer games

Google's Artificial Intelligence (AI) unit DeepMind has shown the ability to play computer games from scratch and within a few hours even win many of the games. DeepMind has published the paper Human-level control through deep reinforcement learning in the scientific journal Nature explaining its software's ability to play 49 computer games originally developed for the Atari 2600 and do as well at half of them as we humans can do.

There is no need to fear that computers will succeed in beating you at all games. The games from the Atrai are relativley simple; when given greater challenges, the DeepMind AI software does not do so well.

Google acquired DeepMind last year and is reported to have spent $400 million for it.
