Microsoft Announces Node.js Support for Azure Mobile Apps

Microsoft keeps bulking up its Azure App Service platform. Today Microsoft’s Azure team released a new Node SDK for Azure Mobile Apps. The announcement was posted by Christopher Anderson, Program Manager, Azure App Service via a blog post.

Azure App Service enables Web and mobile developers to quickly build mobile backend APIs in .NET, add mobile features to their existing ASP.NET web apps, as well as add web pages to their .NET mobile backends. Azure App Service also allows developers to provision and deploy web and mobile apps in seconds, build apps for all platforms including iOS, Android, and Windows apps, automate business processes with just a few clicks, and integrate with SaaS (like Office 365, Salesforce, Dynamics CRM Online) and on-premises applications.

This new Node SDK allows developers to build and run mobile backends using Node.js on App Service, as well as add push notifications, mobile auth, offline sync and other mobile features and backend APIs to any Node.js app running on App Service. The Azure Node SDK is open source and available on Github.
