Microsoft Launched October Update For New Office

Microsoft launches new update for Office this October. In their blog post they stated,

“Welcome to our first new Office update post in which we share the features we are delivering to our Office customers across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android and Office Online. Last month, Microsoft launched Skype in-app integration with Office 2016 on the desktop. Now with the new update the company is taking Skype to the next level. Today, Microsoft announced Skype video and voice integration in Office Online (Words, PowerPoint, OneNote, Excel online) and also in Outlook.co, hence, allowing the users to speak as well as see their contacts. The integration helps in creating a natural and collaborative experience; allowing the users to co-author and have a conversation with your contacts through instant messaging or video calling.

One of the best features of this new update is that the instant messaging history stays connected to the documents, so that when you open it again, you start from when you have left.

In the blog Microsoft states,

“Office Online exists to help you collaborate with anyone, anywhere, with just a browser. Now with Skype communication built right in, you can get more done, faster.”

Skype integration with Office Online will be available worldwide from November.

Microsoft has worked hard to bring Office where you are. For Chrome users there is a new extension, which allows you create as well as open Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Sway documents by using Office online from your Chrome Browser. You will also be able to make user of the extension in order to open and view existing Office documents stored on OneDrive. You can now easily download Office online on Chrome.
