Microsoft Wants To Bring Back Former MVPs

Microsoft or non-Microsoft, Microsoft wants you back. Microsoft is expanding its MVP program in hopes of bringing its former MVPs back into the network. There are many former MVPs, who do not practice Microsoft technologies anymore, but who may still bring validity to the MVP program.

Last month, Microsoft’s Steve "Guggs" Guggenheimer announced a new program for former MVPs called MVP Reconnect. From his blog:

We are therefore thrilled to announce a new program called MVP Reconnect. This is our way of reconnecting former MVPs and keeping them in touch with Microsoft and the select technical expert community. The program is available to join starting today. All former MVPs, regardless of their technical expertise or award category, are invited to the program.

MVP Reconnect is a way for former MVPs to stay in touch with Microsoft and other community leaders. It is a fully collaborative program between the community and Microsoft, and there will be a whole range of benefits.

Through MVP Reconnect you can:

  • Join an exclusive global network of former MVPs
  • Attend events and hear about local and international offerings
  • Take part in private discussions
  • Share your MVP experiences
  • Learn from and coach other members of the community
