.NET Core 2 and Visual Studio 2017 (15.3) Preview 2 Now Available

The .NET Engineering team has recently released Visual Studio 2017 (15.3) Preview 2. The .NET Core 1.0 and 1.1 are by default included in this release. Also, the company has announced that the .NET Core 2.0 Preview 1 SDK is also available for download in order to develop .NET Core 2.0 applications using this recently released VS 15.3 Preview 2.

In the official announcement, the company states,

“We are working on .NET Core 2.0 Preview 2 which will be available soon. If you would like to experiment with .NET Core Preview 2, you can install the latest daily build of the .NET Core SDK. Choose the appropriate package from the Installers and Binaries table. These daily builds will work with Visual Studio 2017 (15.3) Preview 1 and Preview 2.”

As per the company,
  • Visual Studio 2017 15.3 Preview 2 now offers the .NET Framework 4.7 development tools to all supported platforms with the 4.7 runtime included.

  • Users can now sign into Visual Studio even if they have Multifactor authentication turned on only for some resources used in the Visual studio sign in flow.

  • Connected Services tab shows which services have already been configured.

  • You can select and add Visual Studio Team Services symbol paths to your Visual Studio environment using the Tools->Options->Debugger->Symbols page.

The company has suggested the developers who install daily builds to uninstall the previous daily builds so as to keep their Programs Control Panel clean and uncluttered. However, the company has warned that the versions 1.0 and 1.1 should not be uninstalled, in order to start working on Visual Studio 2017 (15.3) Preview 2.
