New Windows 10 Technical Preview Build Available Now

Windows team released a new build of Windows 10 for PCs, Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10061.

The new build is available through Windows Update or can be done through Settings > Update & security > Windows Updates and click the “Check for updates” button.

Updates available in this new build are:
  • New Mail and Calendar apps with improved performance. Mail supports customizable Swipe Gestures to take actions like delete, flag, move or mark as read/unread. Both the new Mail and Calendar apps support Office 365, Exchange, Outlook.com, Gmail, IMAP, POP and other popular accounts.
  • This build introduces the new black system theme across the Start menu, Taskbar, and Action Center. Settings app under Personalization allows us to change color and transparency of Start menu and Taskbar.
  • Taskbar optimization for tablets with larger Start button, Cortana, Task View buttons, and items in notification area widened for improved touchability. Also, pinned and running apps are removed by default to reduce clutter and simplify the experience. Easy launching of both Start menu and Task View. Task View is now an icon on the Taskbar.
  • A number of virtual desktops can be created and can be accessed at our will.
Issues fixed in this build are:
  • Indexing of new email in Outlook which was not working in previous build.
  • Enabling Hyper-V issue is resolved.
  • Visual Studio crash when creating a new Universal app project.
  • Project Spartan issue when double-clicking titlebar to maximize. alignment of the Favorites Bar fixed so that the text and icons no longer appear partially below the bottom of the Favorites Bar.
