Node.js Tools 1.2 For Visual Studio 2015 Released

Node.js has become a developer favorite JavaScript library to build event driven open-source, cross platform server side applications. If you’re new to Node.JS, I recommend start with Introducing Node.js or Introduction to Node.js. These two articles will get you a good grasp on basics of Node.

To support Node development, Microsoft Visual Studio team has done a wonderful job by introducing a Tools for Visual Studio. If you’ve not developed a Node app using Visual Studio, I recommend start with Start Node.js Development In Visual Studio 2015 article.

Node.js Tools for Visual Studio (NTVS) is a free, open-source plug-in for Visual Studio that allows Visual Studio developers to build NodeJS applications. The plug-in or set of tools adds Node templates, intelligent code completion, advanced debugging and profiling, unit testing, cloud deployment, and other features to the IDE for Node developers.

Today, Visual Studio team announced a new version of Node.js Tools for Visual Studio 2015. The new version, 1.2, announced via a blog post by Sara Itani of Visual Studio Engineering team, is now available for Visual Studio 2015 including Visual Studio Community Edition and Express for Web editions.

Some of the new features and improvements in version 1.2 includes:
