Office 365 REST API Available Now

Today, the Office team announced Office 365 REST API Preview that allows developers to use the REST API to consume Office 365 data and documents from the mobile and rich-client applications.

The Office 365 APIs are a part of Windows Azure AD that provides the developers access to the Office 365 using a single sign-on. It uses OAuth to authenticate and access the Office documents and resources. The API provides access to the user emails, profiles, documents, calendars and templates.

This is a big step forward integrating and providing access to Office 2013, Office 365, SharePoint 2013, and Project Server 2013 using a single authentication.
