Skype Chat Bots Now Available On Mac

Microsoft has recently announced bot support for Mac and web versions of Skype, soon after adding it tothe Windows version few weeks back.

The bot support helps in bringing the artificial intelligence technology cross-platform, which is available in new preview, to the communication software. Bots available include Murphy, a bot to find and create images, and summarizing, a bot design in order to provide an overview of web pages if you do not have enough time to read the entire contents.

To get started with bot on the Mac version of Skype, all you need to do is tap on the “Contacts” from the menu and select “Add Bot” in order to search for or view a list of available bots. You can easily download the “preview” Mac version from the Skype website.

The bots are now available on Windows, Android, iPhone, and iPad, and Skype has gone on to create a developer program for the third-party developers in order to create bots for the platform.

Currently, Bots are the trend in the tech industry, as chat giants Facebook and Slack have been moving towards bot ecosystems within their messaging platforms. At the moment, bots aim to automate tasks and serve up information.
