Skype UWP App Gains A New Update For Windows 10 Mobile And PC

Currently, Microsoft has rolled out new Skype Windows Store app for Windows 10 Mobile. The app gained its first big update, jumping from build 11.6.206 to build 11.7.79.

The build 11.7.79 does not bring in too many new features; however, it does bring in numerous UI improvements. Alongside this, it also brings in improvements to the reliability, actionable notifications and many more.

The earlier July change log promoted the following features, however these are carryover and not new:
  • Bot directory.
  • File sharing.
  • PSTN Out/Skype Out.
  • Connectivity and Status awareness, Troubleshooter, and Offline Mode.
  • Proxy settings.
  • Outgoing message status.
It has been noticed that Messaging Everywhere is still not available. However, the Skype team has gone on to mention that this feature would soon be back ‘this summer’. It makes complete sense for the company to launch one last release with better stability, before the upcoming Anniversary update.

The current update is for both PC and Mobile. However, it is available only for those who are on the Anniversary Preview Update.
