Sony Planning On A More Graphic Intensive PlayStation

According to the Wall Street Journal, Sony is planning on a new PlayStation with more graphic-intense games, ahead of the company’s VR headset release in the second half of the year.

The console will be completely separate from the PlayStation 4 which has sold roughly 36 million units worldwide. As per the reports, the upgraded PlayStation’s advanced graphics and power will still be able to take advantage of similar software to the PlayStation 4.

Previously, it was reported that the upgraded version will bring high-end 4K resolution. The release is expected to take place before the release of the PlayStation headset in October for $399.

The Oculus Rift and HTC use high-end PCs for power, giving Sony a reason to need to enhance console.

Palmer Luckey, the founder of Oculus Rift, discussed the importance of a smooth launch of the new VR headset.
