Twitter Now Allows Anyone To Request A Verified Account

Twitter is opening the blue checkmark for everyone. The company will allow users to send a request in order to get their account verified on its website, just by filling out a form, with the verified phone number, Email address, a profile picture, along with the additional information, as to the reason behind the requirement of the verification or why it is helpful. Earlier, Twitter only allowed the verification for public figures, people in media, politics, sports, business and other high-profile sectors.

Tina Bhatnagar, Twitter's vice president of User Services, states,

"We want to make it even easier for people to find creators and influencers on Twitter so it makes sense for us to let people apply for verification. We hope opening up this application process results in more people finding great, high-quality accounts to follow, and for these creators and influencers to connect with a broader audience."

In order to complete the form and submit it for verification, your account must have the following:
  • A verified phone number
  • A confirmed Email address
  • A bio
  • A profile photo
  • A header photo
  • A birthday (for the accounts, which are not company, brand, or organization accounts)
  • A Website
  • Tweets set as public in Tweet privacy settings
The Application process will start rolling out from today and it will be available worldwide by this week. For more, the information about the application process check here.
