Define managed paths using Central Administration in SharePoint

In this article I showing you how to create a managed path using SharePoint Central Administration.

1. In Central Administration click Application Management TAB.

2. From Application Management page, click Manage Web Applications under Web Applications.

3. Select the Web application for which you want to create a manage paths. The ribbon becomes active as shown in the image.

4. From the ribbon, click on Managed Paths.

5. On the Define Managed Paths page, Type the name of the new Path

6. You can confirm the path by clicking Check URL

7. From the Type Select your type you have two options

  • Wildcard inclusion

  • Explicit Inclusion

8. The Wildcard inclusion type includes all paths that are subordinate to the specified path. The Explicit inclusion type includes only the site that is indicated by the specified path.

9. Click Add Path

10. Click OK you are done with managed Path
