Sharepoint list and data types


Objectives:

  • Understand the concept of Database, SharePoint List table in SQL server VS
  • SharePoint and the SharePoint List Template
  • SharePoint and custom data types and Column Name
  • Add, delete, edit the elements in SharePoint List

Exercise: There are two sites and Publishing site Team site

Exercise 01: Create a SharePoint List

  • Top-Level Open default SharePoint site

    • "View All Site Content" or Type List | Create Link
    • Site Actions | Create Link
  • On the Communication category

    • Select the link "Contact"

    • Enter Description Contacts is My Friend
    • Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"

  • Click "Create" button

Exercise 02: Configuring a SharePoint List

  •  To see MyContacts List

    • Click on "View All Site Content" in the left menu
    • Or Click on the Quick Launch
  • Click MyContacts:

    • Settings | Settings List

        • MyContacts changes to "My Contacts"
      • In the Description box

Exercise 03: Repeat 3 times creating new elements

  • To see MyContacts List

    • Click on "View All Site Content" in the left menu
    • Or Click on the Quick Launch
  • Click on List MyContacts:

    • Click New Link | New Item
    • Enter information for LastName, FirstName, Company...
    • Click OK

Exercise 04: Change element in SharePoint List

  • Click on List MyContacts:
  • Click on the Last Name item | Edit Item

Exercise 05: Enter the item in Sharepoint List for other accounts

  • You must have an account of the operating system

    • Add Account (quochung) website

      • Click on the link "People and Groups"
      • Click on the link "Site Members"
      • Click New | Add User

    • Views | Modify this view

Exercise 06: Save a SharePoint List Template

  • Choose any that Sharepoint List | Settings
  • List Settings | Permissions and management
    • Click on the link "Save list as template"

      • Enter the decription: This Is My Template
      • Check the option "Include Content"

    • Site Actions | Create Link
  • On the Communication category

    • Select the link "MyTemplate"

    • Click OK

      • Check on the option Yes in the "Display on Quick Launch"
    • Click "Create" button
  • Enter a few items on the List RelationWebSites
