This Article shows How to Enable/Disable sa Account in SQL Server.

All the accounts in the Sql server 2005/2008 can be enabled, disabled and renamed(for security reasons) as below-

--To disable sa login--
ALTER LOGIN sa DISABLE
--To enable sa login--
ALTER LOGIN sa ENABLE
--To rename sa account--
ALTER LOGIN sa WITH NAME = [NewAccountName]
