LAS VEGAS — January 5, 2026 — Amazon has expanded its next-generation AI assistant, Alexa+, beyond voice devices and mobile apps with the launch of Alexa.com, a new web-based interface that lets users interact with the assistant directly from any browser.

Unveiled this week at CES 2026, the new platform allows people to use Alexa+ the same way they would other AI chatbots — typing or speaking queries in their browser without needing an Echo or other Amazon hardware. The rollout is currently available to users in the Alexa+ Early Access program, with gradual expansion expected over time.

From Voice-First to Web-Ready AI

According to Amazon, Alexa.com brings the full capabilities of Alexa+ to the open web, enabling everything from quick answers and deep topic exploration to task completion and content creation — all within a browser window. Users can ask questions, get recommendations, plan trips, or even handle homework help.

Unlike traditional voice assistants tied to hardware, Amazon’s new web experience retains past chats, preferences and personalization across devices, making transitions between phone, smart speaker, and browser smooth and continuous.

Enhanced Productivity and Smart Living

In addition to general AI queries, Alexa.com integrates with Amazon’s broader ecosystem to help users manage smart home devices, update calendars, organize to-do lists, and add grocery items to Amazon Fresh or Whole Foods carts. The web interface also includes a navigation sidebar for easy access to favorite features and ongoing tasks.

Observers note that this move positions Alexa+ more directly against large language model-based assistants like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, expanding Amazon’s reach in the competitive AI landscape.

Early Access and Future Rollout

Alexa.com is currently live for those enrolled in the Early Access program in the U.S. and Canada, with additional regions and broader public availability expected in the coming months. As Amazon continues to integrate more services and partner apps into Alexa+, the web version stands as a key step toward making AI assistance ubiquitous and device-agnostic.
