Angular Releases Version 9.1

Angular 9.1 features TypeScript 3.8 and faster builds.

Recently, the Angular team announced the release of Version 9.1 of Angular.

9.1 is a minor release of the framework and the CLI that is a drop-in replacement for 9.0 containing new features and bug fixes.

The team said that in 9.1, they have improved the speed of ngcc, and supported it to compile multiple packages concurrently. These updates will help make builds faster and improve reliability for teams with monorepository-style workspace layouts.

The latest release also brings support for TypeScript 3.8. You will get many great features to the TypeScript language, including Type-Only Imports and Exports, ECMAScript Private Fields, and Top level await.

The team said that it has been very common for developers to want components to use the display: block style. Now, with 9.1, you can set this up automatically while creating a new component.
  1. ng generate component my-component --displayBlock
In order to turn this on by default, you can set the schematics.@schematics/angular:component.displayBlock key in your angular.json to true.

Some of the other new features include End-to-End tests now support grep and invertGrep, Improved HTML & Expression Syntax Highlighting, Directionality Query API, and TSLint 6.1 by default.
