On March 19 Apple will join the Dow Jones Industrial Average, replacing AT&T.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average is an index indicating Wall Street's current
performance. Apple is now the largest corporation in the world (worth about $740
billion) and a technology
leader, so it is an obvious choice for the Dow Jones Industrial Average. AT&T is
worth about $174 billion.
Other companies in the DJIA are General Electric, Walmart, Cisco Systems, Microsoft,
IBM, Intel, American Express and Visa.
