Bill Gates Steps Down from Microsoft to Focus on Humanity

Bill Gates has stepped down from Microsoft and Berkshire Hathaway Boards in order to dedicate more time to philanthropic work.

Recently, Microsoft announced that Co-Founder Bill Gates has stepped down from the company’s Board of Directors.
 
Bill Gates said that he has done this to dedicate more time to his philanthropic priorities including global health, development, education, and his increasing engagement in fighting climate change.
 
However, Gates will continue to serve as Technology Advisor to CEO Satya Nadella and other leaders in the company.

Earlier, in June 2008, Gates had transitioned out of a day-to-day role in the company to give more time on his work at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He worked as Microsoft’s chairman of the board until February 2014.
