Dart 2.7 Released

Dart 2.7 SDK brings extension methods and a new package for handling strings with special characters.

Recently, Dart announced the stable release of the Dart 2.7 SDK, which adds support for extension methods and a new package for handling strings with special characters.

Dart, developed by Google, is a client-optimized language for fast apps on any platform.
You can avail 2.7 as an SDK download from dart.dev. Also, it is built into  new Flutter 1.12 release.

The latest version brings an update on null safety (type-safe nullable and non-nullable types). You will also get a brand new null safety playground experience in DartPad. And, pub.dev has a new Like feature for giving feedback to packages that you appreciate.

The long-requested, powerful new language feature - extension methods - enables developers to add new functionality to any type including types that you don’t control and have the brevity and auto-complete experience of regular method calls.

As these extension methods are resolved and dispatched statically they are as fast as calling a static function or helper method. Extension methods feature also supports extending classes with new getters, setters, and operators.
