Facebook Launches Messenger Desktop App

Facebook's standalone Messenger app on Mac and PC brings free video calls and chats to desktop.

Recently, Facebook launched a Messenger app for MacOS and Windows in order to bring free video calls and chats to desktop.
 
Facebook said that in the past month, the company saw over a 100% increase in people using their desktop browser for audio and video calling on Messenger. Now with the release of Messenger app for MacOS and Windows, the best of Messenger is coming to desktop. The app offers unlimited and free group video calls.
 
Messenger app will enable you to group video calls on a larger screen. Everything you love about Messenger is now available on a bigger screen, including Dark Mode and GIFs.

Messenger on desktop allows multitasking. The chats are easily accessible, and people can pop in and out of the app while doing other things on their computer.
 
Chats sync across mobile and desktop - is also a highlight of the release. Facebook said people will never miss a call or message no matter what device they’re using.
