Google Announces Cloud Functions Enhancements

New Cloud Functions capabilities include new runtimes, new regions, improved Cloud Functions UI experience, improved local developer experience, and Security enhancements.

Recently, Google announced new capabilities in Cloud Functions that you can now will allow you to use it to build end-to-end solutions for several key use cases.
Well, Google Cloud Functions is a scalable pay-as-you-go Functions-as-a-Service (FaaS) platform that runs your code with zero server management.
New Cloud Functions capabilities include New runtimes, New regions, Improved Cloud Functions UI experience, Improved local developer experience, and Security enhancements.
Well, Cloud Functions platform now supports six different languages with the following runtimes: Java 11, .NET Core 3.1, Ruby, Node.js (8, 10 and 12), and Python (3.7 and 3.8); and is now available in 11 more regions, including Seoul, Sydney, São Paulo, bringing the total number of regions to 19.

Google has released the Functions Frameworks, which is a set of open-source, idiomatic libraries for each of the Cloud Functions-supported languages. Frameworks enables developers to run, test and debug their function in their local environment, giving them the same behavior as production without needing to deploy.

The team has redesigned the Cloud Functions UI which includes an improved inline code editor that’s suitable for use with larger screen sizes.
Cloud Functions now provides you per-function identities, wherein individual functions within a project have their own identity. The feature also allows for fine-grained control over which resources your function can access.
